The demand for data from AI companies is exploding. To train their models, giants like OpenAI and Google are collecting massive amounts of information from all sorts of sources—websites, social media, public forums, and more. Most of this data is gathered from platforms like Google, Bing, and countless others, often without any payment or permission from the original content creators.
This raises a big question:
If anything we publish online can be scooped up and used by AI, is our content really protected? Or are we just giving it away for free to fuel someone else’s technology?
